Study On Development Idea And Service Means Of Chinese Library In Ubiquitous Knowledge Environment

Ubiquitous Knowledge Environment is a new generation of scientific knowledgeinfrastructure which is composed of network facilities, hardware, software, informationresources and people. It is a comprehended dada information infrastructure of futureknowledge society that makes the best use of people, data, information, tool and facilitythrough the ultimate convenience of computation, storing and communication.With the continuing development of ubiquitous knowledge environment, various formsof resources and services that are supplied by society have been embedded in peoples’ lifewithout being discovered and they can make appropriate responses through judging peoples’intent, so people will obtain the instant information and service in mobile environmentunlimited by time and space. Challenged by the huge change, every librarian in thecommunity should reflect on service faith and change the services idea to keep up with theupcoming of intelligent age.Through the literature review, internet and database survey, induction and deduction,example listing and chart analysis, this paper describes the concept and characteristics ofubiquitous knowledge environment, analyses its influence on our country’s librarydevelopment and puts forward library development idea in the ubiquitous knowledgeenvironment. It finally discusses in detail the service means that should be adopted in thisenvironment which is elaborated by the construction of virtual community of excellentreading guidance.The major research work and contributions of this thesis are as follows:(1) Clear the concept and characteristics of ubiquitous knowledge environment andanalyze its impact on Chinese library, namely, breaking the limitation of digital library andphysical library, making the library a more complicated competition environment,emphasizing user participation and ubiquitous service.(2) Using the reference of Five Laws of Rang Nathan’s library science and ManagementPhilosophy of Japanese entrepreneur Kazuo Imamura, deepen the library’s development ideain the ubiquitous knowledge environment by emphasizing people-oriented service, userparticipation, co-construction resources, single joint, concerns for spiritual needs of librarianand users and combining virtual with reality.(3) Due to emphasis on omnipresent service and humanistic, personalized and intelligentservice of ubiquitous knowledge environment, this paper puts forward the library servicemeans that should be taken in ubiquitous knowledge environment in China, that is, the LivingLibrary service, mobile phone Library services and embedded service, followed by detailed discussion about the connotation, form, content and advantages of every kind of service.(4) Making the construction of virtual community of excellent reading guidance forexample, integrate the development idea and service means of Chinese library of ubiquitousknowledge environment into the virtual community construction and explain the reason andsignificance of launching excellent reading guidance service. The construction of virtualcommunity of excellent reading guidance is one of the contributions that libraries do for theconstruction of public cultural services system, and it also promotes people’s spiritual cultureliteracy and enhances our country’s culture development and prosperity.
