Mobile phone design is facing with the most intense competition in communication industry, and mobile phone antennas design is the most important procedure in product design, directly related to whether to enter high-end market. And with the development of public health recognition, during the designing antenna, people should not only concern about the effect of human body on antenna performance, but also that of electromagnetic energy on human body—SAR.In the situation of the coexistence of a variety of mobile communication standards, especially the arrival of4G, the mobile phone is required to process more and more functions, which need to design wider bandwidth of antennas. Therefore, the antenna size becomes smaller because of fashion and style factors, so that the antennas design becomes much more difficult.Based on various requirements mentioned above, the paper is organized as the following:1、summarize the development of mobile communication, the development trend of mobile phone antennas and the challenges of antennas design. Furthermore, summarize the fundamental theory of all kinds of antennas, the parameters of the antenna performance and the limits of antennas design.2、introduce the technology of miniaturization, multiband and broadband antennas in the mobile devices. And illustrate the common design structure of antennas based on experience.3、design a miniaturization double parasitic3G antenna for handset. With the merge of various of technologies, the antenna can operate in850/900/1800/1900/2100bands under the3.1mm height small areas. Finally, the measured results are analyzed on engineering perspective.4、design a ultra multiband4G antenna for handset, which can cover the all high bands of2G/3G/4G. Moreover, study the effect of antenna path on high frequency band SAR. Finally, the measured results are analyzed.The innovation of this paper: 1、introduce systematically the technologies of miniaturization, multiband and broadband antennas in the mobile devices. And illustrate the common antenna design structure by experience.2、design a double parasitic pentaband3G antenna for handset. With the merge of various of technologies, the antenna can operate in850/900/1800/1900/2100bands under the3.1mm height small areas.3、design a ultra multiband4G antenna for handset, which can cover the all high bands of2G/3G/4G. However, it does not add the antenna size and the complexity of antenna. Furthermore, the antenna can also reduce the SAR of high band.
