The study of competitiveness is one of the frontier and focus fields in contemporarytourism research. With the increase of tourism competition, the academic circle has beenincreasingly drawn extensive attention to the study of tourism competitiveness, but thecompetitiveness of visitor attractions in its initial stage, the urgent need to open up within-depth constantly.This dissertation in refer to a number of related literature at home and abroad on thebasis of data, using the theory of comparative advantage, competitive advantage theory,sustainable development theory and green and low carbon development theory, the mainreference draw on the Porter’s “Diamond Model” and the tourism destination competitivenessconcept model (Crouch&Ritchie Model) attempts to build sources of competitivenessanalysis model of visitor attractions that its competitiveness mainly composition bysupporting factors, protection factors, environmental factors and the core factors. Thenconstructed a set of visitor attractions competitiveness evaluation index system in accordancewith certain principles based on mainly with reference to the domestic and internationaldestination tourism competitiveness and city tourism competitiveness evaluation indexsystem, and Huaqing Hot Springs Scenic of Xi’an were analyzed by applying the technique ofFactor Analysis, then the recommendations of Huaqing Hot Springs Scenic to enhancetourism competitiveness were put forward. The full paper includes the following six chapters.Chapter one, introduction. Explained the purpose and significance of this study, a briefintroduction of research methods and ideas, pointing out the innovation of this study.Chapter two, competitiveness and visitor attractions research review. Analyzing andsummarizing the domestic and international research literature from four aspects of thecompetitiveness, visitor attractions, tourism competitiveness and visitor attractionscompetitiveness, and clarifying the theoretical premise of the present study to try to putforward the concept of the visitor attractions competitiveness.Chapter three, the source of the visitor attractions competitiveness. Based on thereference to the results of previous studies, holds the ideas that the visitor attractionscompetitiveness mainly come from the supporting factors, protecting factors, environmental factors and the core factors, and a brief analysis to the elements from every factor has beenmade.Chapter four, visitor attractions competitiveness evaluation index system. Based on asummary of the domestic and international tourism competitiveness evaluation index system,visitor attractions competitiveness evaluation system is preliminarily constructed from tenaspects of competitiveness to performance, market, resources, products, services, talents,technology, management, environment and others.Chapter five, the empirical research. The tourism competitiveness of Huaqing HotSprings Scenic of Xi’an is empirical evaluated by applying Factor Analysis technique toprocessing visitor questionnaires and expert survey data, and put forward the proposals toenhance the tourism competitiveness of Huaqing Hot Springs Scenic.Chaper six, conclusion. Amendment on the competitiveness evaluation indexsystem of visitor attractions and some concluding remarks, point out the inadequaciesof this study, propose the future research prospects.
