China’s export increased rapidly and consecutively since the implementation of the policy ofopen and reformation, which made great contribution for the development of economy, and is one ofthe three motivation factors of economy. Meanwhile, the current export mode which pay muchattention to quantity rather than quality caused problems as: export product with low value-added,product with high energy consumption, high pollutant emission and high percentage of productionunder processing with imported material. This cause overexploitation of natural resources and moredemand of energy, as a result, the carbon emission increased, which imposed negative influence onChina’s environment. Currently, Chins is facing large pressure to decrease carbon emission. The dissertation makes analysis of export trade influence on carbon emission by applying themethods of econometric regression and factor decomposition. Firstly, descriptive analysis of thecurrent situation and characteristic of export trade, energy consumption and carbon emission wasmade, the result shows that: export trade, energy consumption and carbon emission are withcharacteristics of large scale, rapid increase, uneven distribution on district and industry. Secondly, econometric regression was adopt to analyze the relationship of export trade and carbon emission, and draw the conclusions: there is long-term co-integration relationship between export trade andcarbon emission, export is granger cause of carbon emission. Thirdly, factor decomposition methodis adopt to make measurement of export trade influence on carbon emission. The result shows that:the scale effect is positive while technique effect and composition effect is negative. The netenvironmental effect is positive since the scale effect is far larger than the sum of technique effectand composition effect. The expansion of export trade has adverse impact on environment.
