Along with the development of the society, the requirement of energy becomemore and more urgent all over the world, and because of the limitary of thenon-renewable resources and the deteriorate of the environment, the crisis of energyhas been stand out for a long time, so many stations give more prominence to theexploitation of the renewable resource to save energy, lower energy consumption andreduce pollutants. China has become a great power with a big amount of energydemand and also in the present of the crisis of energy and environment. The use ofground source heat pump technology may be a efficient way to solve the solution.Ground source heat pump (GSHP) technology has been well developed with awild-spread application in China among these years, the amount of the related projectsand the squire that the GSHP technology has covered was increased during years. Butin different area and cases the utilizes of the GSHP have different effects, so anassessment about the techno-economical performance and the energy conservationeffect of the ground source heat pump system is extremely critical for the more efficientand wide-spread utilization of the GHSP technology, and some academicians all overthe world have done much research on it.By consulted exit literatures in this field, the author gives a comprehensive reviewof the different methods to assess the techno-economical performance of the GSHPsystem, and based on the exit methods, two site surveys on the applications of theground source heat pump in Beijing have been conducted, through that the author madea comprehensive and quantitative analysis that contains the technical, economical andenvironmental performance of the application of the ground heat pump system in thecases. And then a contrastive analysis is conducted with the traditional heat supply andrefrigeration technologies. The result shows that: the GSHP system has a betterperformance in energy conversation and pollution reduction compared with thetraditional heat and refrigeration ways, although the system requires a huge number ofinitial investments, the operational outlay is law and without a high technical requirement. So the GSHP system will have a good performance as a associated way ofheat supply and refrigeration.The conclusion of this paper is that: the assessment method formulated in thispaper can be applied to give a comprehensive and accurate analysis to the GHSPsystem properly; the utilization effect of GHSP system may be varies with the casescale, management style and technical level of the equipment. The successfulutilization of the GHSP can reach the aim to lower energy consumption and reducepollutants discharge; the development on the energy conservation ability of the GHSPtechnology and a suitable management and policy induction will be a critical factor forthe further spread and utilization of GHSP technology.
