Analysis On Differences Of Influence On Chinese And Foreign Fashion Designers By Chinese Elements

"Chinese elements", the word has been familiar with us, appears frequently in the international fashion arena. But it is disappointed that those who made a good use of it are foreign fashion designers. Chinese culture which is five thousand years old is profound. It leaves much valuable heritage to Chinese designers to learn. But few Chinese designers can show the true meaning of "Chinese elements". That is an embarrassing situation which has to be faced by all of Chinese designers. It is a big problem to our Chinese designers to better the mix of Chinese culture and fashion, to carry forward their own culture.For the phenomenon of "China wind" blowing on the international fashion stage which is leaded by western culture and dilemma which has to be faced by Chinese fashion designers, the differences of Chinese and foreign fashion designers learn from the Chinese elements have been investigated. There are four parts of this paper. The first part, introduction, introduces the research status and background of this paper. The second part analyses the traditional Chinese elements from three aspects of the meaning of traditional culture, the meaning and content of Chinese elements, and Chinese elements embodiment in apparel. The third part analyses the differences of design methods and design thinking of Chinese and foreign fashion designers. The forth part is the inspiration of this paper. A large number of the works of famous Chinese and foreign fashion designers have been quoted and analyzed. The reason of the differences of what Chinese and foreign fashion designers learn from the Chinese elements is the difference of their design thinking. In this paper, the different sections are interlocking and progressively increasing and analysis is clear. The result shows that innovation has to be made on the base of sublation of national culture, and the design art should be inclusive and“Big Nation”.Under the pressure of globalization competitive of the twenty-first century, the burden on the shoulder of Chinese fashion designer is very heavy, and their mission is a long way to go. But Chinese culture leaves much valuable heritage to Chinese designers to learn. Today, the number of talented people is more and more in China. Emerging designers are constantly strive to explore the way to better Chinese clothing. Hope in the near future, Chinese designer and their works with "Chinese elements" can be the best on the international fashion stage.
