| With the concept of comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development, ecological damage, and environmental pollution problems in economic development attach people’s attention. In China, we also meet the same problem .In the same, we meet regional sustainable development. To solve the problem, we need understand the influence of economic growth in easternã€central and western regions on the environmental equality. In this paper, based on the EKC, we selected the panel data including 30 provinces except Tibet from 1998 to 2008, and built economy - environment model to study the three regional influence of economic growth on environmental quality.According to this line of thinking, at first, we analyzed the three regional economic growth and environmental quality. Secondly, we used Timing Analysis PCA to synthesize eight indexes into one index. The eight indexes included six indicators of environmental pollution and two indicators of ecological destruction .The higher the score, the worse the environmental quality of the province .Thirdly, We constructed the basic economy–environment model .In the model ,the environmental quality is the explained variable, GDP per capita is the explanatory variable. In the income– environment model, we added three control variables, the industrial structure, the level of urbanization, the level of foreign trade. After adding three control variables, we get a extended model. We got three Conclusions .First, in the eastern and central regions, the influences of economic growth on the environmental quality meet the inverted U-curve,. In the western region, the influence of economic growth on environmental quality did not meet the environmental Kuznets curve, but consistent with the U- curve. If we made the turning point of the inverted U, U-shaped curve as demarcation point, the inverted U and U-curve would be divided into the left half and the right half . Although some individual provinces in easternã€central and western regions were over the turning point, but most provinces still in the left part. Secondly, in the eastern and central regions, the influence of industrial structure on the environmental quality is not significant; the level of urbanization and foreign trade deteriorated the environment quality. In the Western region, industrial structure coefficient was positive, the coefficient of the level of urbanization and the foreign trade coefficient were negative, which illustrated that the industrial structureDeteriorated the environment quality and as the levels of foreign trade and urbanization, environmental quality would gradually improve. |
