Fdi Effect On Industrial Structure Optimization And Upgrading Of Shanghai

Shanghai has always been at the front of Chinese opening. Since this century, FDI of Shanghai has stepped into a golden time. FDI has promoted not only the economic development of Shanghai, but adjustment and optimization of Shanghai industrial structure. Furthermore, Shanghai has evolved from a classic industrial city to a metropolitan with service and industry in parallel, more open and international.Shanghai economy has reached the junior stage of developed economy of industrialization, however, regarding industrial structure, Shanghai is still in the later stage of industrialization. There are a lot of factors that affect industrial structure change, while this thesis, based on the assumption that other factors stay the same, is to discuss the affect of FDI on Shanghai industrial structure, and therefore provides scientific and reasonable suggestions.In this thesis, chapter 1 and 2 review the main theories, references, and the previous research achievements of FDI and industrial development; chapter 3 analyses the relationship between evolvement of Shanghai industrial structure and FDI development, and discovers the consistency between the trend of industrial structure changes and FDI distribution among industries with prominent consistency for the last decade; chapter 4, by using Distributed Lag Model, does empirical study on the affect of FDI on Shanghai industrial structure, and discovers that FDI promotes the development of the third industry best; chapter 5 proposes the solutions to further upgrade and optimize Shanghai industrial structure by using FDI, which are to change investment strategy, optimize distribution of FDI among three industries, break the monopoly, enhance marketization, and cultivate innovation; finally in conclusion, the writer summarizes the research achievement and defect of the thesis.
