Nowadays, the characteristic of space-time combination in economic activity has become increasingly prominent, and the relationship between time and space is very important to the socio-economic researches. However, traditional methods focus on the spatial dimension but ignore the temporal dimension, or focus the temporal dimension but ignore the spatial dimension. From the perspective of spatial and temporal combination of down to explore the problem, then it will give us more inspiration. Transportation of goods in international trade is done in space and time, therefore transport is bound to overcome the spatial distance, to overcome the spatial distance necessarily consume time, so the transportation of goods in international trade is the great economic activity which greatly combine space and time. This article tries to break with tradition and the backdrop of the international trade, making a special study of the transportation costs. The focus of this article, and also innovation focus on:the use of a new research perspective-perspective of space-time combination to research questions; discussed in detail starting from the space-time dimensions to give a new definition of the transportation costs in international trade, and make a detail research to the elements and composition of the definition; describes the consistency concept of temporal and spatial distance, based on the displacement of the chain construct the mathematical expression of the transport costs on the condition of normal stagnation and non-normal stagnation; by empirical comparative analysis and theoretical studies, come to the thought and enlightenment to reduce transportation costs.Through research, this paper thinks the transportation costs in international trade is to overcome the sum of the consideration of space distance and time distance, with particular emphasis on delay cost of transport; spatial and temporal factors that affect transportation costs include geographical location, transport infrastructure, mode of transport, type of commodity and regional trade integration; to reduce transport costs from the container transport, transport infrastructure, methods and strategies to control the distance of time, systems and policies, transportation mode selection and commodity types matching degree to be considered comprehensively, At the same time, to grasp and control the temporal and spatial relationship of the transport, pay full attention to "local comparative advantages," clear the type of participation in trade of goods, rationally view the expansion of international trade and the increase of domestic demand.
