With the development of social economy and society, many enterprises are attaching an increasingly importance to social responsibility of enterprises when chosen strategic suppliers. As an important manifestation of corporate social responsibility, charitable acts of suppliers are gained growingly attention of client corporations. However, researches on choices of suppliers often emphasize consideration of economical factors, such as quality, price, date of delivery, and so on. It’s a kind of short-sighted and prone to moral hazard. This deviated from business practice currently. Therefore, it can’t offer guide for enterprises in strategic supplier effectively. Based on this, this dissertation aimed to explore choosing behavior of strategic supplier from the charity perspective.Scale-model investigation and case study, theoretical study and practical research were combined together in the thesis, from enterprise charity acts perspective, an important aspect of corporation social responsibility which gained growingly attention of business, customers, investors and so on. Based on analysis of theoretical study on choices of suppliers before, indirect reciprocity theory was introduced, and supplemented by choosing strategic suppliers, following conclusions are concluded.With an increasing pursue of adaptability, to choose strategic suppliers from charity perspective are more assured to keep the long-term stable cooperation for client corporations. Firstly, the suppliers that pleased to offer considerable resources to society and make a long-term promise are more trustworthy. Secondly, in the frequent and intimate contact with the type of suppliers, not only acquired considerable material benefits, but take this chance to develop more business opportunities, win more social concern and increase intangible assets.Charity acts, as a newly competition means, enterprises could get more environmental support by implementing charity acts, and improve enterprises adaptability. On one hand, enterprises should pay the cost for implement charity behavior, which depends on strategies of charity acts; on the other hand, they could get more social support by implementing charity acts, and it depends on evaluation strategies of the third party. Enterprises adaptability is determined by the both two aspects, the specific sizes rely on frequency of each strategy. Customer enterprises are more inclined to choose the most adaptable suppliers as strategic suppliers. To analyze the process of choosing strategic supplier by client corporations from the perspective of charity, and stand in own point of supplier in practice, how to improve their own adaptability when implementing charity acts was analyzed. The two subjects and one perspective are pacing with each other, offers theoretical and practical guidance for client corporations to choose strategic suppliers in new period.
