With the rapid development of the global economy, companies, especially multinational companies are under increasingly competition pressure in such an economic integration environment. Confronted with the volatile business environment and market demands on quality, cost, speed, service, management and so forth, companies have to attach much attention to supply chain management. It is becoming unprecedentedly crucial for companies to choose supplies rationally, and further to choose and evaluate strategic suppliers scientifically, and to establish long-term cooperative relationships, which is conductive to earn competitive advantage for companies.This thesis firstly elaborates and studies related concepts, criteria and methods in supply chain management, supplier selection as well as strategic supplier evaluation and selection. Secondly, this thesis analyzes the existing supplier selection process and evaluation system and identifies problems of the supplier selection and evaluation system in company C, then derives root cause. Finally, adopting the 7 steps and DMAIC method based on existing model and system as well as historical data, this thesis puts forward a strategic supplier selection system, and provides with rationalization proposal on the establishment of thorough KPI evaluation system.After case study on the actual operation in company C, this thesis brings forward a suggestion of strategic supplier selection and KPI evaluation system in multi-national manufacturing companies, which does not only contribute to establishing strategic partner network for company C so as to fulfill its supplier management targets, but also provides other global manufacturing companies a reference to the supplier management practice.
