Financial leasing is a new kind of financial instruments which combines physical credit and bank credit during the development of modern finance. And it is also becoming one of the main approach that enterprises exchange their equipments nowadays. In addition, financial leasing is one of the five industries in the modern finance and the other four are bank credit, securities, insurance and trust. Financial leasing has a long developing history which is almost 30 years in China.With the improvement of our financial leasing system, financial leasing is becoming more and more popular. And therefore the management and control of the risks in financial leasing is also becoming more and more important.Aircraft financial leasing is a typical kind of financial leasing, and it is widely adopted in China’s civil airlines.Aireraft financial leasing is usually involving many parties, high value, trading a long time, high technologies, as a result, the risks of financial leasing is more obvious.So the study of the risks in aircraft financial leasing from the respect of airlines is of great positive importance.This paper firstly introduces the development of financial leasing and China’s civil aircraft financial leasing and it also analyses the main characteristics of aircraft financial leasing.Then this paper analyses and measures the risks of aircraft financial leasing such as business risk, financing risk, interest rate risk, exchange rate risk and technology risk according to its complex characteristics such as high value, trading a long time, complexity of its risk factors and so on. All of these analysises is done from the aspect of civil airlines instead of financial leasing enterprises.And finally, it gives suggestions and strategies about how to deal with those risks that civil airlines face nowadays according to the present situation and future of China’s civil aviation.
