At the end of the 20th century, with the development and the worldwide popularity ofInternet technology, an Internet-based media was born, which was a kind of new digital art-Online Game. As the same as the thrill experience brought by birth of film, the advent of OnlineGame expands worldwide with higher speed than the former. Moreover, the latter is welcomedamong middle aged people and the youth, forming its unique aesthetic characteristics in theprocess of development. In China, through the first decade of the 21st century, Online Gamedevelops fast, with the result of a relatively stable domestic Online Game market and the hugeindustrial chain, for example, "Zhu Xian (2nd)", "TianLong Babu",“Xun Xian”arerepresentatives of those outstanding domestic online game works. For every year, due to the birthof a large number of domestic online games, the domestic online game market booms andflourishes. These excellent domestic works provide entertainment and aesthetic experience to theaudience; meanwhile show their characteristics of local culture. Culturally, the online gameindustry has become an important part of socialist culture, taking responsibility of aestheticentertainment and education.However, too much emphasis on entertainment determines the difference between OnlineGame and the traditional art form, which includes rendering of the audio-visual elements, andthe advantages of interactivity, freedom and openness, helping Online Game overpasses film artin a very short time. It stimulates sensibilities of audience, and eliminates the psychologicaldistance with the audience, with higher special effects than film art, unique music, andcomparable high video quality, which is as good as high-definition movies. This offers a visualand audio feast, enlarging needs of auditory and entertainment, with the result of becoming oneof the most important aesthetic entertainment. For this reason, analysis of Internet Games playsan essential role in meeting people’s cultural needs. Limitedly, domestic Online Game started late,and the developing time is too short, as well as the rapid pace of development, it seemsimpractical for domestic Online Games on the road of development. One-sided emphasis onspeed and economic efficiency, the domestic Online Game performs quick success and instantbenefit, which directly affect the overall quality of the domestic Online Games. Being trumpetedin the bloody, violent, pornographic and other elements exacerbates the game addiction and juvenile delinquency. Online Game gets to be the negative examples of education, in abhor ofpopulation, which deviates from the normal art, with being ignored in dominant position by thecommunication. Nowadays, foreign researches on China’s Online Game are scarce, while mostof the domestic researches on Online Games are mainly from the field of politics, economy,computers and other professional elaboration. And there are a few researches on the problemshappened in process of domestic online game from Art and Communication field. For this reason,study on weaknesses and vulnerabilities, as well as tackling the problem and putting forwardcountermeasures and suggestions of the rationalization of the healthy development of thedomestic Online Games plays an important role of systematic and comprehensive exposition ofthe current Online Games. Qualitative and quantitative research methods are applied in thisthesis, which starts from the overview of the development of Online Games, throughquestionnaires and experience summary, in accordance with the order of the five elements in theCommunication to analysis and summary problems in the development of the domestic OnlineGames, and give practical recommendations to the problem. These are the innovations of thisthesis.
