Project scheduling management is a complicated system work, which goes through the whole process of project construction and needs the participation and closely cooperation of all parities of the construction side. Currently western developed countries have formed a complete project scheduling management scientific system. With the fast developing of the of the Chinese economic, if we want to improve our competition advantages in project management at home and abroad, we must analyze and research the development level of current project scheduling management, understand and compare the global mode, procedure and standard, then find out the differences of the two, learn from their strong points so close the gap.The project scheduling management has been implied to some of the international construction enterprises or large projects in China, and has gained positive economic and social benefits. Yet the situation in the substantial medium and small construction enterprises or projects is not so optimistic, especially in small project the scheduling management is almost been ignored. In the circumstance, it is important to research how to break through the current mode and imply the scheduling management skillfully, improve the management level and efficiency of the project as well as shorten the construction cycle time on the premise of the good productive quality, to achieve the economic purpose of the company. This thesis introduces a real case:the F project of S company. Instead of manage the project themselves the landlord employed the famous project management company-Fluor to carry on the project management work. With the contractor-DFD as the penetration point, this study analyzes the differences (i.e. the differences on drawing engineering and verification, differences on engineering standards, differences on the way of scheduling,) from the aspects of culture, operation mode and management procedure of the project scheduling management at home and abroad.The study aims at discussing the differences of culture, working procedures, engineering standards, time scheduling processes and execute ability in the project scheduling management differences by the case of DFD in F project of S company. It concludes two important reasons that affect the project scheduling management by the forms of words and diagrams:a specialized management system and comprehensive high-quality management manpower. At the same time, this study brings forward to the solutions for the two aspects, i.e. build a specialized management system, train some comprehensive high-quality employees as well as take the scheduling management work as the key points of the management process. Only the enterprises recognize the weakness of their own can they solve the problems appropriately and their company scale can be larger and larger. The improvement of the project management can dramatically help to improve the ability of timing control, resources and manpower allocation as well as project quality control, then finally influence the investment feedback of the whole project.
