Research On The Industrial Competitiveness Of Jiangxi Province

In recent years, as the socialistic market economy is gradually perfected, Chinese industry development has turned into the competition stage. The competition between domestic areas is mainly reflected in the regional industrial competition. Therefore, to improve the regional industrial competitiveness becomes the key to develop new market and promote regional economic development. Industrial sector is a pillar industry of national economy, a measure of a region’s economic strength and an important indicator of the level of modernization. So the effect of industrial development to the regional economic development is essential and could not be overlooked.Jiangxi province is located in the middle part of our country. The province’s industry development can guide and promote its economic development. How to accurately assess the industrial competitiveness of Jiangxi province, and then analyze its advantage, its weakness and its competitive power to make correct policies has become the key to promote rapid development of Jiangxi’s economy. Thus the research about the industrial competitiveness of Jiangxi province in this thesis has a certain theoretical and practical significance.The research object of this paper is the competitive power of the industry in Jiangxi. On the base of recalling the existing research achievements briefly, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods are used to study and evaluate the industry competitiveness of Jiangxi province. According to the principle of industrial competitiveness assessment, this thesis makes the following empirical analysis:firstly, use Shift-Share Analysis methods to contrast Jiangxi’s every industry level with that of the whole country, found that compared with the national average level, Jiangxi’s industry has weak competitive power. Jiangxi’s industrial structure is not reasonable, and its resource allocation is not ideal. Secondly, this paper apply the Factor Analysis method to assess the industrial competitiveness between the country’s31provinces and cities,find that Jiangxi ranks22" in the whole country with its weak competitive power, which is largely due to the low contribution of some competitive factors. Finally, we use the System Dynamics approach to establish Jiangxi’s industrial system simulation model, which includes Industrial manufacturing sub-system, Regional Tech-innovation sub-system and Regional Economic Environment sub-system. Then we can predict Jiangxi’s industrial developing trend in next few years and assess different economic policies’different effect on economics through the model history test and the simulation procession. In the end, this paper brings some policy advices which can promote Jiangxi’s industry development.
