With the development of market economy and the explorations and innovations in company management system in China, salary management, as the important part of company management system,is paid more and more attentions by many companies. How to improve and inspire the staff’s initiative and creativity through rational payment distribution, has become an increasing problem to every company.A company this article researching is a state-owned port company. There was a strategic plan early in Shenzhen that the city would continue to develop by taking port logistics as a mainstay of the city and increasing its investment and policy towards port.Meanwhile the development of port logistics has also been brought motivity and support to the economy of the city. But there exists many drawbacks in the salary system of A company because of history reasons, for example, doing the same work but getting different reward, and there’s a subtle difference no matter what you do well or bad. As to the different post there also exists unreasonable phenomenon in payroll distribution——this makes an effect on employee’s initiative and creativity and goes against the development of the company. It’s not in accord with the strategy that the city will continue to develop basing on port.I find some practical solutions by analysing the problems existing in the salary management of A company, for example, use of Broad Band Salary theory, and draw these feasibility measures through a series of argumentation.State-owned ports are the main part in port logistics in Shenzhen.By researching the salary management of A company,I hope it will give some enlightenment and reference to other ports so as to assist the whole industry promoting the salary management ability.
