A Research On The Influencing Factors Of Import Trade In China

Foreign trade of China have been experiencing a rapid progress, and it has become an important driving force for economic growth since reform and opening up. Foreign trade will also play a more prominent role in economy growth of China in the process of economic globalization. However, for a long time, the research on influencing factors of foreign trade has almost been focus on export trades, rarely concentrates on the development of import trade. As is widely known, foreign trade includes both export trade and import trade. It is not reasonable to study just one aspect of foreign trade. In the study of the influencing factors of the development of international trade of China, it is required that we should not only study the export trade, but make some efforts on the research of import trade.With the development of the economy and the globalization, the import trade which has long been neglected is gradually becoming the focus of economic research. China has regarded the trade balance and the import trade development as the important goal of the "twelfth period". Therefore, the research on the development of import trade and the influence factors is realistically meaningful for establishing a rational development mode of import trade and establishing an equilibrium trade structure to promote the development of the economy.Firstly, the paper reviews the international theories related with import trade and the researches on the factors impacting on the import trade. Secondly, the paper analyzes the situation of the import trade of china from two points of view:the overall situation and the structure of import trade. The overall analysis involves the trade amount and growth rate. The structure analysis includes the commodity composition, the distribution of trade partners, trade behaviors and the ways of import trade. In the next step, the paper makes a qualitative analysis on the effect mechanism of the influence factors of import trade based on the data. In the quantitative analysis, the paper established a panel data model to examine the impacting effects of the factors with a series of methods such as the unit root test, the Co-integration test, and econometric regression.In the last chapter, the paper also analyzes the international trade environment and the national environment which the development of import trade has to face with. Besides, it sums up the measures the developed countries took to promote the import trade. Finally, on the basis of all the analysis above, the paper makes numerical suggestions on the development of import trade.
