Empirical Study On Identification Of Pivotal Risk Factor In IT Project

Information technology is the basis of the modern social development, which is an important impetus for the development of modern enterprises, but many IT project executive effect is not ideal.It is difficult to approve project stakeholders in the overall goal of project time,cost and quality. It exist a lot of risk in the phases of project definition, design, implementation and finishing, these risk factors have a different impact on the success of the IT project. How to identify these risks in order to take effective way to avoid and transfer these risks becomes the important issue of many scholars and experts work for.Although many scholars and experts had done a large number of studies on IT project risk identification,due to the age, country, the external environment and so on, there are differences on the scope and purpose of their own research, which made it also different on the pivotal risk factors of IT projects they proposed.Overall, the related theoretical studies have focused on reviewing the previous studies and putted forward importance risk factors,but they can not determined the relatively important degree during the risk factors due to lack of practice tests. Empirical research study the relationship between risk factors through using different analytic-al methods to analysis data which obtained from questionnaires, interviews and other methods,but their findings is lack of generalizability due to the lack of a rigorous theoretical framework.In view of the existing problems, the paper constructed a theoretical model of the pivotal risk factors for IT projects, and validated the model through analyzing the related data.First of all, the paper analyzed the research status of the IT project risk management and risk identification at home and abroad from the theory basic and applied research.It also described the characteristics process, framework and methodology of IT project risk identification.Secondly,the paper build a theoretical model of the pivotal risk factors for IT projects on the basis of analyzed the research results,and summarized the elements of the model.IT project risk identification purpose, characteristics and process from the IT project life cycle angle,and discussed the ideological evolution of the risk management. Once again,in order to validate and correct theoretical models, this paper design the questionnaire, and issued to the IT project practitioners through e-mail, survey network and Internet.Finally, we used descriptive statistics and variance analysis to summary and validity the effective sample,and extracted14common factor by using factor analysis.The reliability test results show that the common factor to meet the research requirements.
