In China, there are lots of factors affecting project performance, such as overspending cost, delaying the time limit, improper control of quality and dissatisfaction from stakeholders. Among a series of methods solving these problems, improving partnering relationship between project stakeholders, making their partnering relationship develop smoothly are effective approaches. However, nowadays, most scholars focus their attentions on using the theoretical study to analyze the relevancy between partnering relationship of project stakeholders and project performance. Thus the paper takes internal stakeholders in our country’s construction project as research object and tries to find out the impact of project internal stakeholders’partnering relationship on project performance in order to enrich related theory knowledge and direct related practices.Based on relevant literature review, stakeholder theory, the definition and characteristics of stakeholder’partnering relationship, the concept and evaluation index of project performance are stated systematically in this paper. In the paper, after summarized relevant literature research, it presents the foundation of forming internal stakeholder’ partnering relationship and the foundation is trust and commitment. Project performance includes project delivery (time, cost and quality), stakeholder’s satisfaction and innovation and learning performance. The paper introduces communication as the mediating role, and explores how internal stakeholder’partnering relationship affect communication to improve project performance.Positive analysis is achieved through the Questionnaire Survey and the questionnaire objects are the internal stakeholders in construction project. The data recovery methods include reliability analysis, validity analysis, multiple linear regressions and variance analysis. The research results are:(1) In the project, internal stakeholder’partnering relationship has significant positive effects to the project performance.(2) In the project, communication is the mediating role affecting the relationship between internal stakeholder’partnering relationship and project performance.(3) Except project total investment, other information of survey objects and their recently involved project have no obvious interference to the independent variable, intermediary variable and the dependent variable.According to research conclusion, this paper suggests project managers can enhancing the trust and commitment, increase the communication within stakeholders to improve project performance.
