With the economic development of Chinese society, it is increasing competition among the enterprises. Storage management has become the strategic issues that the enterprises improve competitiveness and achieve sustainable development. The business community and academic circles have attached great importance to the research and practice of the storage management.Power generation companies have spare parts and other supplies of tens of thousands of types to ensure the normal production run, and the value of these spare parts is increasing constantly with the large capacity of generating units, resulting in increasingly higher costs of enterprise storage. At the same time, electricity production has its particularity that production and consumption of instant conversion, it have a broad impact on society that the reliable power generation and supply. Therefore, storage management of the power generation companies’supplies related to the operation of the enterprise, and related to electrical safety and socio-economic development. The many contradictions of Chinese current situation, such as "the market for coal, electricity plans", so that the profit of thermal corporate is reducing substantially year after year, the survival and development for the production and management is enduring enormous pressure. Therefore, the storage management’s research of thermal power enterprises to be more scientific, economic, efficient is very necessary and urgent.Based on the author’s own work experience, and as study objects for the JDZ plant storage management to discuss the status of the storage management, human resources, hardware, software configuration, inventory control strategy, coding, inventory management and so on, the six aspects analyzed the problems that have existed in the current storage management, and these issues is that how to solve the storage and management of demand-oriented. In view of current existing problems and based on the conclusion of needs analysis, the paper has brought out the optimization programs of storage management, especially the innovative virtual storage concepts and practical process, providing with a good reference. Finally, the paper made the evaluations to the optimized storage management after the implementation of the JDZ power plant.
