Study On The Development Of Puning’s Textile And Garment Industry

As the traditional pillar industry of Puning, textiles and garments have played animportant role in the local economy, which contributing over50%to the total volume ofeconomic development and benefits. Facing the ever changing foreign and domestic situationsand fierce market competitions，how the industrial group of textiles and garments of Punigdeveloping and keeping step up to a new stage. The dissertation, which made an overallinvestigation into the historical development and current situations, the opportunities andchallenges，the advantages and disadvantages of the industry of textiles and garments ofPuning. Finally，I found that the way to advancing the development of the industrial group oftextiles and garments of Punig is to accelerate the transformation and upgrading，that isadjusting and optimizing industrial structure, enhancing the innovation capability of industrialclusters and cultivating famous brand, as well as optimizing the industrial organization of theclusters, setting up industry support system，expanding the market space oriented to thedemand. Only by taking these measures, the Puning textile and garment industry cluster willcontinue to expanding，so that to achieve the economic development across Puning.The frame work of this dissertation is mainly includes three parts, namely, the abstract,body and conclusion. The body consists of four chapters--Chapter1, introduction, Chapter2,the historical development and current situations of the industrial group of textiles andgarments in Puning, Chapter3, opportunities and challenges，advantages and disadvantagesthat the industry of textiles and garments of Puning encounters on, Chapter4， measures totake for reforming promotion and upgrading the industrial group of textiles and garments ofPuning.The detailed investigation shows that the industry of textiles and garments of Puning hasa long history and deep folk basis， it has gone through4stages from Ming dynasty till now.As far as concerned, the textile and garment industry in Puning has formed a certain sizeindustrial clusters with certainly gathering ability，the scale is high-rank in the domesticindustry basis，also its necessary system is initially has design、production and marketing. Sothe products of upstream、midstream、downstream in the industry chain are popular at homeand aboard. It was named “China’s textile industrial base.”as its strong regional brandinfluence.The opportunities of the industry are: the everlasting and burgeoning market demand ofthe products； quickly transferring of the industry between regions throughout the country even the world； and preferential policy support from the state etc. The challenges are: thetrading frictions due to international financial crisis, Post-Financial Crisis Era，and Europeandebt crisis；the pressure of appreciation of RMB,；increasing competition between regions；and rise of all sorts of cost. On the one hand，its advantages lay in favorable regionalconditions, good foundation of the industry, local policy support and a good reservation ofqualified manpower. On the other hand， the disadvantages remain in weak self innovation,very few flag-ship industries, weak market radiation power, and low product attached value,and so on. As for how to promote and optimize the industrial group,the author maintains theviews that should be adjusting and optimizing industrial structure，promoting self innovationand stimulating creativity, cultivating famous brands, strengthening the competitiveness of thegroup, optimizing the industrial organization of the clusters，constructing industry supportsystem, expanding the market space around oriented demand.
