Research On Developmental Potential Of Citrus Industry In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regions

In recent years, with the adjustment and optimization of the structure of plantation, the fruit industry in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has enjoyed fast development especially the tangerine production, which has become the pillar industry in shaking off poverty and becoming prosperous. Guangxi enjoys great advantage in planting the tangerines, there are14cities in Guangxi having the plantation where there has the best facilities, good potentials and sharp edge in terms of the exportation. It brings tremendous opportunities to the tangerine industry especially after China’s accession to the WTO and the establishment of the ASEAN free economic region, and at the same time it still faces many severe challenges.In the study process, proceeding from the analysis of the current tangerine industry and taking the field study in Guangxi as an typical case, I carefully analyze the current development condition, advantage, potential as well as the bottlenecks of the tangerine industry. Based on that, I make a prediction on the trend of the tangerine industry in Guangxi and merit the experience in other provinces and at last I list the policies as follows for reference:1. Guangxi enjoys great regional advantage for tangerine industry in terms of nature resources, labor forces, technologies, and social conditions.Guangxi enjoys great potential in cultivating the early maturing tangerine, developing ASEAN markets, and accelerating the international rade.The bottlenecks in tangerine industry include low level reproduction, weak orchard infrastructure, out-dated commercial operation, weak industrialization management and small market share.2. Based on the thorough analysis of the current tangerine industry, with that forecast, I make a prediction on the Guangxi tangerine industry development and forecast Guangxi citrus still has large potential can mining wherever area and yield, variety and layout and so on in the next10years.3. Some development countermeasures and suggestions which may promote Guangxi citrus industry are as follows:(1) Improving and implementing relative policies;(2) Implementing citrus regional distribution;(3) Strengthening orchard construction standard;(4) Increasing commercialization processing power and processing capacity;(5) Promoting industrialization development of citrus;(6) Promoting citrus brand strategy implementation.
