At present, the profit contribution rate of the retail banking business in general has reached about50%, the retail banking business becomes the main source of profits of advanced international banks. In recent years, the Bank of Asian countries have begun to over-reliance on the ills brought about by the corporate banking business, and have vigorously expand the retail banking business. With the "11th Five-Year Plan’s exceeded in Shanxi Province, the province’s economic has developed fast and stably. The economy has expanded rapidly, a substantial increase in residents’income, continue to accumulate personal wealth, the retail banking business have a broad prospect in such a huge savings market, and will become the domestic commercial banking operations of the most stable and the most promising business areas.Since Taiyuan Branch of China CITIC Bank’s inception, the retail business lines to cope with the complexity of changing market conditions and regulatory environment, adhere to the "transformation, upgrading and development," one hand is external marketing, and another hand is business transformation, the overall business get a steady growth and the business structure significantly optimized. Especially in building a customer-centric business management system, building customer segmentation service system, the transformation of network channels and other key areas have taken the first step and yielded good results for the next step to deepen the restructuring and accelerate the development has laid a good foundation. However, compared to the leading commercial banks, there are many gaps in retail business development.Firstly, this article summarizes the details of the history and present state of the retail banking business in international and domestic. Subsequently, using SWOT analysis to analysis the strengths and weaknesses、opportunities and threats of the CITIC Bank branch retail banking business in Taiyuan, found that the retail banking business of CITIC Bank Taiyuan branch in the future faced with more strengths than weaknesses internal, more opportunities than threats external. Based on this, this article puts forward some suggestions and implementing measures for the further expansion of Taiyuan Branch of China CITIC Bank retail business, in order to provide some useful reference for the development of the retail business in Taiyuan Branch of China CITIC Bank.
