Construction Of Farmland Irrigation And Water Conservancy During Collectivization Period

After new China was founded, the whole country began to attach great importance to farm water conservancy construction. With the development of farmer cooperative and the establishment of people’s commune, the quantity of farm water conservancy construction was increased and the scale was expanded. Water conservancy as the lifeblood of agricultural development, the Party State valued it greatly especially during the collectivization period, so the masses carried out large-scale farm water conservancy construction at the call of party and national policy.I am honored to participate in the scientific research project "Daobei plan" organized by china’s social history research center in Shanxi university, so I collect and investigate the material about Daobei farmland irritation construction in Pingyao county during collectivization period. The content of farm water conservancy construction in this village includes two parts. The first one is farmland irrigation. The masses not only started the construction of improved irrigation canal, but summarized the irrigation law from practice and put as much emphasis on management as on construction during the collectivization period. The second one is the project of harnessing shahe. The aim is to solve two problems on farm water conservancy construction, namely, flood and saline and alkaline land. Shahe has the effect of backing water and controlling alkali, so bringing Shahe under permanent control can alleviate the flood and reduce the salinization of soil. Based on analyzing the process of farm water conservancy construction, this thesis sums up the close relation between achievements realized in farm water conservancy construction during collectivization period and the political and economic system during that period. The development of farm water conservancy construction is offered required resources because the country carries out highly centralized right on politics and planned economy.The completion of this thesis uses the archival data named The Organization and Collection of Archival Data of Daobei Village in Pingyao County in Chinese Social History Research Center of Shanxi University and local farmers’ dictate datum of field survey and collection to research the situation of farm water conservancy construction in collectivization period. Furthermore, it adds the author’s analysis and discussion to solve the new problem of farm water conservancy construction at the present stage.
