Research Of Green Supply Chain Management On The Impact On Business Performance In Small And Medium-sized Ee Firms

To alleviate a trade-off between economic development andenvironmental protection, leading nations of the world have establishedenvironmental protection laws. Recent environmental incidents occurringin the upstream of the supply chains of global firms caused not onlyfinancial damage to the firms but also damage to the reputation of thefirms. These anecdotes raised the alarm to the large buying companieshow important supplier selection and support are.This paper made a summary on the basis of massive literatures aboutgreen supply chain management.The two primary research tasks of thisstudy are:(1) to evaluate dimensions of green supply chain managementpractice implementation.(2) to examine the relationship between theGSCM practice implementation and business performance includingdirect and indirect effects.Survey questionnaires were mailed to223small-and medium-sizedelectronic firms in China that were contacted in advance for the surveyparticipation and all of them responded. This study analyzed collecteddata using structural equation modeling (SEM) to test hypotheses.The study provides evidence that:(1) GSCM practice implementationhas a positive relationship with employees’ job satisfaction, firms’operational efficiency, and relational efficiency between the suppliers andbuying firms,(2) operational and relational efficiencies have directimpacts on business performance; and (3) employees’ job satisfaction,firms’ operational efficiency, and relational efficiency between thesuppliers and buying firms have a mediation effect on the relationshipbetween GSCM practice implementation and business performance.However, the results of this study did not find a direct link betweenGSCM practice implementation and business performance.
