Reviewing the implementation of reform and opening-up policy, there were certainstage characteristics of both rural labor force migration and the growth of farmer income inChina. Recent years, with the advance of China’s urbanization, the scale of rural labor forcemigration has been increasing. In this context, it has important practical significance to studyrelationship between rural labor migration and provincial divergence of farmer income, aswell as relationship between different directions of rural labor migration and the sourcescomposition of farmer income for promoting farmer income, coordinated developmentbetween urban and rural, and clarifying the direction of urbanization development in future.This article consists of the following aspects:The first chapter introduces the background as well as the purpose and significance ofthis study. Then summarizes and comments relevant research results on farmer income andrural labor migration at home and abroad.The second chapter begins with the overall analysis of the status of rural labor migration,then analyses the distribution of provincial farmer income as well as regional distributioncharacteristics of farmer income from static and dynamic perspectives.In the third chapter, using spatial datas to analyses provincial Gini CoefficientDecomposition on farmer income and contribution rate of Concentration Index of farmerincome divisions. to Gini Coefficient, and tests regional farmer income convergence trend.Then analyses the correlation beteeen provincial divergence of farmer income and rural Labormigration. Finally, Judges correlation between different directions of rural labor migrationand farmer income.In the fourth chapter, using time series data to conduct the Unit Root Test andCointegration Test, then builds the VAR Model.Analyses the Impulse Response and VarianceDecomposition of farmer income sources to different directions of labor migration. Concludesthe effect of different direction of rural labor migration to farmer income sources.The fifth chapter summarizes the main conclusions of this paper, and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. And then explains deficiency and futureresearch directions for this study.This paper concludes that no matter farmers migrated to towns or cities, it facilitatesto narrow provincial divergence of farmers wage income and transfer income. Comparedwith rural labor migrating to towns, migrating to cities is still has the decisive significancefor farmer income and source constitution. The migration of rural labor is an important wayto reduce provincial divergence of farmer income, meanwhile it is necessary for our countryto continue to give more support and attention to towns, so that they will play moreimportant role in the process of rural labor migration.
