With the continuous development of China Higher Education Reform, The motivation systems and methods of counselors management cannot keep in pace with their performance. Due to the lack of enough emphasis on the incentives, the shortage of highly incentives, the failure to design good motivation systems and other problems, the current motivation systems need to be more systematic and completeness. The existence of these problems greatly not only affects the overall building and the development of counselors but sets severe constraints of ideological and political work and students’ management as well.Skinner, a representative of Behavior operationalism, argued that the human behavior can be shaped according to his reinforcement theory. Based on the reinforcement principle of learning, he proposed to revise the staffs behaviors by reinforcing the selection of orientation and the proportion of objects and by reinforcing the arrangement of procedures. Skinner’s reinforcement theory provides a good theoretical support to the motivation management.Hoping to solve the current problems in the counselors management, I want to do a deepen analysis on the motivation environment, assessment mechanisms, remuneration mechanisms, promotion mechanisms of the motivation systems and methods of counselors management by introducing Skinner’reinforcement theory.Firstly, I did a literature review on the motivation methods in the motivation systems. I then did a research by using the methods of questionnaire survey, documentary research and case survey. Based on the data I had collected, I made an analysis on the current counselors’motivation systems. After finishing my genetic analysis of the effectiveness of the four mentioned prospects, I find the fact that the current counselors’motivation systems do not match both the development of counselors’ management and the development of counselors’careers.Following Skinner’reinforcement theory, I suggest that the college administrators should change the counselors’working environment, program block management of the payment systems and then establish a "small step-high pace run" mod to further improve the motivation systems and stimulate the enthusiasm of the counselors for their work.
