An Analysis On Mao Zedong’s Economic Construction Theory During The Period Of Overall Socialism Construction

At the end of1956, with the basic completion of socialist transformation, the socialist system generally established in China. In the socialist period, the priority task in front of the Communist Party of China is the socialist construction, especially socialist economy construction. On the basis of over100years wars and declined economy, our communist economy construction got started. This is an unprecedented event for our Communist Party members led by Mao Zedong. During1956to1965, the eve of the Great Cultural Revolution, China witnessed a ten-year overall communist construction period. Communist Party members led by Mao Zedong persisted in exploring the construction path suitable for China and took the development of socialist economy as the very important task of socialist construction. In the course of pushing forward our economic development, Mao Zedong inherited and developed the economic theory of Marxism and raised a thought of developing our economy according to our own situation. Therefore, the socialist economic theory of Mao Zedong came into being, which is unique and abundant in contents.This paper will conduct an overall and systematic analysis on the socialist economic construction theory of Mao Zedong during the overall socialist construction period. First, the paper will discuss about the theoretical and realistic basis of Mao Zedong’s socialist economic construction theory from the perspectives of socialist economic theory of Marxism, experiences and lessons from Soviet Union socialist economy construction and the basic situation of new China. With the support of the above items, the paper will discuss the principles in the economy theory of Mao Zedong during the overall socialist construction period. Second, the paper will take it as a priority to illustrate the economy construction theory of Mao Zedong during the overall socialist construction period. During the ten years, Mao Zedong came up with unique ideas on economy construction. With the guidance of that theory, our socialist construction has made several achievements. In the mean time, the paper will explore the limitation with his theory and its roots. In the end, the paper will present an evaluative part on Mao Zedong’s economy construction and value its theoretical value and realistic meaning. The economic construction theory of Mao Zedong not only enriched and developed that of Marxism but also laid foundation for the formation of socialist theory with Chinese character. It also offers lessons to learn from for our socialist modernization at present to avoid mistakes.Mao Zedong integrates the basic principles of Marxism with the specific situation of China and develops a series of suitable routes, principles and policies, substantially enriching and developing the socialist economic theory of Marxism. The theory of Mao Zedong is foundation of the socialist theory system with Chinese characters. Mao Zedong’s socialist economic construction theory, especially the abundant economic construction theory raised in the overall socialist construction period is an important part of his economic theory and the source of developing socialist economic theory during our modernization development course. It is a great guidance and lesson for our economic construction practice and socialist economic theory at present.
