Since the reform and opening up, the total amount of modern service industry inGuangdong Province continues to expand, escalating structure，the employability is higherthan in the past, and basically formed a relatively complete system of service industry.However, we should see, though Guangdong has the advantage of the weather,geography, popularity, Guangdong’s service industry than in other regions of the country inthe development of consciousness, the total size, the industrial categories, quality of serviceis the first step, but as the openness level of the country continuous improve, the economic inother regions of the country is rapidly developing, the development advantage ofGuangdong’s service industry is declining or not being gradually obvious.In order to maintain sustainability, enhance the dynamism and vitality of the province’seconomic development,achieve industrial restructuring and upgrading, develop newadvantages, continue to maintain its leading position in the domestic regional competition aswell as international competition,guangdong economic social development must be furtherunderstanding the meaning to speed up the development of modern service industry from theother regional economic development of the country and the current situation of thedevelopment of guangdong province domain.From existing theoretical articles,the study of modern service industry mainly focused onthe relationship between modern service industry and economic development, is still a lack ofthe articles of comprehensive evaluation of the modern service industry developmentindicators from the various provinces and cities to look at the modern service industry inGuangdong.this is mainly because the establishment of comprehensive evaluation indexsystem of services more difficult,a number of services involved in the industry,but also hasthe intangible nature of service products,non-memory and so on.On this basis, this article attempts to be re-understanding the modern service industryand its evaluation theory, to analyze the development of modern service industry inGuangdong, to establish a more comprehensive index system of measuring the level ofdevelopment of modern service industry in Guangdong, to evaluate comprehensive strengthof Guangdong’s modern service industry, and then and then to put forward countermeasures tothe development of modern service industry in Guangdong Province.Firstly, this theory of modern service industry and related evaluation research aredescribed.
