Study On Modern Service Industry Agglomeration Competitiveness Of Shenyang

The development and gather of modern service industry as a trend of the world trends isdeveloping and growing, accompanied by the metropolis industry optimization. At present,the modern service industry agglomeration not only dominates the development of themetropolis, but also decides the economic prosperity of the city and its regionalcompetitiveness.As the biggest central city in Northeast Region of China, Shenyang had got rapiddevelopment in modern service industry agglomeration. But comparing to Beijing, Shanghai,there still exists a large gap. In order to improve the competitiveness and acceleratedevelopment of the modern service industry agglomeration of Shenyang, we should reach aconsensus firstly.This paper first reviews the concepts, classifies and theories of modern service industryagglomeration. Secondly, we use the SWOT analysis method to analyze the advantages,disadvantages, opportunities and threats of Shenyang modern service industry agglomeration.Thirdly, this paper builds modern service industry agglomeration competitiveness evaluationindex system—selecting agglomeration degree, agglomeration development, agglomerationinnovation, and agglomeration environment as two level indexes--on the correlated theories.On the basis of above analysis, the modern service industry agglomeration competitivenessrank of Shenyang is determined. Finally, the paper sets some suggestions to improveagglomeration competitiveness of Shenyang.
