With the development of global economy, the demand for energy in the world is also growing continuously. As a result, the international society pays more and more attention to the following environmental problems. It has become a primary task for all countries in the world to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. China and the United States, as the world’s largest developing country and largest developed country, take the first and second place in the COi emissions of the world. With accession into WTO, the economy of China increased rapidly as well as the carbon emissions. So China had to face the huge international pressure of reducing the emissions. There is important theoretical and practical significance in the study of the relationship between the carbon emissions and Sino-US trade in order to promote economic development and improve the structure of industry and trade.Based on related theories, adjusted input-output model were used to calculate the embodied carbon emissions in the bilateral trade between China and the U.S. with China and the United States imports and exports, input-output table, etc. On this basis, LMD1method was used to analyze the influencing factors of embodied carbon emissions from the total effect, scale effect, structure effect and technology effect. Results showed that China acted as the exporter of implied carbon. It is a disadvantage for China to pay the environmental cost of the transferred carbon emissions. Judging from the analysis of influencing factors, our country needs to adjust the trade structure and improve the level of technology in order to reduce America’s transportation of embodied carbon emissions. At the end of this article, relevant political suggestions were proposed according to the research above. |
