Facing to energy crisis and global warming,“The12th Five-Year Plan for NationalEconomic and Social Development” clearly point out that, by2020, our society must dropcarbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by40%-45%than that in2005. Development inrecent20years shows that tourism is not a non-destroyed industry to environment. The trafic,accommodation and catering have a great impact on energy consumption and greenhouse gasemissions.80-90%of energy is consumed mainly in four sectors-hot water consumption,lighting, air-conditioning (which takes about50%) and electromechanical usage. Thus, hotelenergy consumption is very concentrated. Saving energe of major energy-consumingequipment is important for achieving low carbonization in hotel.It is significantly practical toexplore proliferation status and existing problems in low-carbon technologies for hotelindustry, and propose effective solutions.The research of technology diffusion influencing factors can be summarized from theperspective of economics, sociology.Based on the comprehensive results, together with theinvestigation, we constructed an evaluation index system. Using Fuzzy ComprehensiveEvaluation as the analysis method, we took hotels in Guangdong province, Hongkong andMacao area (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Hong Kong and Macao) as examplesto explore the hinder of Low-Carbon technology diffusion, demonstrated and supplementedthe conclusions with the interview from low-carbon technology providers, hotels and tourismoffice.Our research shows that there are relatively obvious obstacles in proliferation oflow-carbon technologies in the hotel industry of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, amongwhich the information media obstacle is the primary obstacle factor currently impeding thespread of low-carbon technologies.The channel to access low carbon information is notsmooth. Secondly,consumer support, external policy supervision and support are notenough.In addition to this, the market supplyment and enterprise internal fators are alsoobstacles to low carbon technology diffusion.We also find out that different regions, differentStar level and different forms of ownership of the hotel are facing the different obstacles andbarriers size.At last, we analysed the prospect of the low-carbon technologies proliferation inthe hotel industry, and put forward the proposal countermeasures to promote the proliferationof low-carbon technologies in the hotel industry and provide help for the hotel industry withan aim of the low carbon development.
