China attaches great importance to energy conservation and emission reduction atpresent. Many areas including zhuhai are facing the pressure of that loads grow too fast andpower supply development lags behind economic development. Under the background ofSmart Grid, electricity marketing has some troubles and power supply companys have notreally set up the consciousness of service. Beginning with the research situation of demandside management and electricity marketing, the author connects theory with practice, usesboth quantitative and qualitative analysis and conducts contrast analysis. The basic theory ofDSM includes its development origin, definition, classification approach and implementingmeasures. According to the domestic and international experience, summarize enlightenmentfor China electricity marketing department to carry out DSM. Although Zhuhai has showngreat performance in DSM, the author still puts forward a new implementation mode, andadvices transition to demand response and diversity of electricity marketing products forimplementing DSM in zhuhai later. At the same time, this paper introduces the concept ofmarketing and its classical theory, before expounding the particularity of electricity as aproduct, and leads to the definition of electricity marketing and its core. Combined withsituation of zhuhai elecrtricity marketing work, the author analyzes difficulties in this workand its direction of development, and puts forward a new idea of elecrtricity marketing wihthe core of service concept. Using the concept of safety marginal, depreciate space and benefitcost ratio, power supply company’s economic benefits is characterized. Based on the powersupply and marketing data of Zhuhai power supply bureau, the general situation ofimplementing orderly power utilization and before are compared. The results show thatorderly power utilization can alleviate system pressure in peak time and realizes relatively loweconomic cost in exchange for relatively high reliability. The measure of orderly powerutilization is feasible.
