Over the past three decades of reform and opening-up,tremendous progress in the project of Chinese national parks has beenmade and the system of national parks with Chinese characteristics hasbeen initially established. National Nature Reserve,National GeologicalPark and National Park has been the domestic tourism businessdevelopment in the main battle field, a lot of places in vigorouslypromoting the development of national park.Since the parkconstructions has tended to be utilitarian and commercialized, thenatural resources and ecological system in the parks will face moredanger of destruction. Botswana is the greatest animal kingdom inAfrica, its tourism which is supported by national parks has been thehighlight of South Africa since the last decade. Consequently, it hasgreat theoretical and practical significance to carry on thecomparative studies of Chinese national parks and Botswana nationalparks.This paper reviews the developing process of Chinese nationalparks and Botswana national parks and summarizes the state from theaspects of management system, tourism development, operationsystem, community development and so on.Taking the scenic spots ofJiuzhaigou and Okavango National Park as cases, the papercomparatively analyzes the successful experiences and drawbacks ofthe systems of national parks of Chinese and Botswana in managingframework, developing strategy, operation system, aboriginal peoplesā€™development etc. Based on the current situation of our country, thepaper has raised some countermeasures of developing national parksin future: firstly, to pay attention on keeping ecology in balance andinsist on the theory of sustainable development; secondly, to build theservice specialty and make a quality brand in tourism; thirdly, to expand money input and play the roles of popular science; fourthly, to improvethe security system and guarantee the benefits of aboriginal peoples;fifthly, to strengthen exchanges and learning,and use the advancedexperiences.
