Regional Knowledge-based Economy Disparity And Convergence In China

As a new economic modality，the knowledge-based economy is widely concernedby all over the world. Rising of the knowledge-based economy could be arevolution.1t will great influence today’s mode of production，life style，mode ofthinking，education and1eader’s decision and so on.The ability to create，distributeand exploit knowledge and information seems ever more important and is oftenregarded as the single most important factor underlying economic growth，competitiveadvantage and improvements in the quality of life. Is there any other factors toinfluence Regional Knowledge-based economy, how can the regionalKnowledge-based economy develop with these factors, how to Promote the balanceand coordinate the development of our country’s regional Knowledge-basedeconomy, are the questions needed to be resolved in my paper.So this paper’s research just on the base of fo1lowing up the scent of today’s theknowledge-based economy’s developing and summing-up the research result withpeople of the past and catch today’s theory of the knowledge-basedeconomy.Devising a new set of indicator system， using principle componentanalysis，assessing our country’s knowledge-based economy through five aspects:human capital components， knowledge capital components， financial capitalcomponents，regional knowledge economy outputs，knowledge sustainability. Basedon Kernel density estimates and Markov chains methods，by introducing spatialfactors into the analysis framework，China’s provincial knowledge-based economydevelopment (2000-2009) dynamics are studied. The results from temporal dynamicssuggest that there is the evidence of club convergence. Kinds of levels of theknowledge-based economy development exist for a long time. From the spatialperspective，we find that knowledge-based economy development regional level arepartly influenced by the neighbor regional environment of a region， which hadinfluences regularly on it s economic growth， and its transfer path from oneconvergence club to another.By testing spatial convergence，the development ofKnowledge-based economy in china result in not only the fact inside，but also theneighbor regional environment and others，which is prove my conclusion.At last，some suggestions are given based on the conclusion to make the planningto promote the regional knowledge-based economy in our country.
