The Silk Road Trade traced back to the West Han Dynasty, and developed well during the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties, and it culminated during the Tang Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, the Silk Road Trade status of Chinese foreign trade began to decline and tended to decline gradually. Due to the barrier of Northwestern nation separatist regime in Song Dynasty, the East-West international trade by land was interrupt basically and recovered during the Yuan Dynasty&Mongolian Empire, which laid the foundation for the Silk Road trade in the early Ming Dynasty.After the Ming Dynasty, due to the developed southeastern waterways and seaways, the Silk Road Trade by land tended to decline from its initial prosperity. Early Qing Dynasty implemented the close-door policy strictly. In the early19th century, the prosperous Silk-horse trade with the Kazak was forced to interrupt, due to the change of international situation and the control of unequal treaties by Russia. These theses summarize the historical context of the Silk Road Trade systematically, and analyze the declined status objectively. In addition, according to the basic principles of Economics and International Trade and diversified form of Methodology, the Dialectical view of historical materialism is used to analyse the reason and revelation of the decline of Silk Road Trade in the Qing dynasty in this thesis.
