Lean manufacture comes from Japanese Automobile industry and now Lean system is thecommon standard for manufacture area. The key of lean system is finding and eliminatingwaste during the whole product processes for continuously improvement.Lean thinking, comes from Lean manufacture, which summarized the management conceptand logical from Lean system and implemented the theory into nonproductive area.Management team can improve all the processes in the corporation by eliminating newwaste in nonproductive area with lean thinking.Lean system is important for manufacture-oriented company. More and more companiesare implementing lean system in their product department. However, seldom companiesuse lean thinking in their office and nonproductive area like Human Resource,Procurement, Finance, Administration and even the sign-off processes which is always thebig headache for managers. Actually, it is important for having the lean concept in allemployees mind. Eliminate all the “waste” in every area of is the final goal of a leancorporation.Through the introduction of lean system and lean thinking, this thesis takes the productfacility procurement process improvement of AB Company as an example to study howlean thinking and lean tools can be implemented in nonproductive area of the manufacturecompany. The innovation of this paper is to introduce the lean tools, ten step VSM analysismethod into the nonproductive area of the manufacture company.The thesis emphasizes the current status and detail problems of product facilityprocurement process in AB Company. Meanwhile, through ten step VSM analysis,interview with all process users and meetings for brainstorm, the thesis gives the relatedsolution and strategy for improvement, defines the new process for facility procurement.With the study of lean thinking implementation in product facility procurement process inAB Company, the improvement strategy is a common solution for service process andother nonproductive process.
