As the growing of today’s economy globalization, global companies share rich resources of manufacturer and marketing, but at the same time, competition among enterprises is increasingly fierce. So modern enterprises enhance their competitiveness through every possible approach they could think about, while the core competitiveness of company should be the capacity of new product development, and the key point is how to improve the new product development quality and efficiency. So improving the NPD quality and efficiency is the main thinking of E company and similar enterprise in the industry to increase the core competitive capacity and gain competitive advantage. In this thesis, the characteristic of new product development and current problem of E computer was analyzed through situation study of industry and E Company. The existing new product development process theories was abstracted, refined and extended to get a new process of NPD base on lean thinking and DFM which emphasize to increase the added value of NPD process, that’s customer value oriented, to eliminate the waste process in the NPD process. Concurrency development theory was referred as body of process, and design for manufacturing (DFM) thinking was recommended at the beginning of NPD, as the judge of each milestone, and guide of life cycle of new product development. The effect of this new NPD process implementation and further improvement action were studied in this thesis also. This study is helpful to finalize the guideline of NPD process, eliminate redundant targets and reduce duplication and waste, improve the efficiency and success in first time. And some ways of thinking and reference was provided to the companies in the industry who has the same or similar problem.
