Research On Influencing Factors To Chinese Spin-offs’ Performance

Being a significant part of enterprise, spin-offs play an important rolein modern society. And they are becoming great powers in drivingtechnology innovation, increasing employment and promoting area economyand industry clusters’ evolvement. Entrepreneurship is an important wayof pushing economy development. Spin-off entrepreneurship as a uniquemode exists for long in practice, and in recent years, it was takenseriously as a research issue in our country.On the basis of spin-off entrepreneurship theory and research datafrom Chinese spin-off companies, this thesis makes a systematic study toinfluencing factors to spin-offs’ performance and builds a preliminarymodel among spin-off entrepreneurs’ experience, relative resources,business network and non-business network, capability to explore productsor markets, related mode of companies and spin-off companies’performance.We will study96spin-off entrepreneurs through questionnaire survey,which adopts present scales and newly designed indicates. In the stageof empirical research, we will apply statistics analysis method likereliability and validity analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysisand regression analysis. It demonstrates that each variety has a highscore in reliability and validity analysis. Regression results alsoprovide a proof to correlativity among business network and non-businessnetwork, capability to explore products or markets, and spin-offcompanies’ performance. We make explanations to the rest factors. Andfinally, according to the above results, we come up with measures topromote Chinese spin-offs’ performance. The author expects that this thesis can contribute to the presenttheory, and also hope that these measures have directive functions to ourspin-off companies.
