Research On Wholesale And Retail Industry’s Effect On The Economic Development Of Henan

Wholesale and retail industry is a connection between production and consumption, many countries and regions use its development as the reflex of economic development. In the21century, especially after China’s entry into the WTO, wholesale and retail industry began to open all-round, its status in the economic system, and its promoting effect on social consumption gradually revealed. At present, along with our country’s economic structure adjusting, the mode of economic development from the investment leading mode turn into both investment and consumption leading mode, consumption’s promoting effect on the economic development are becoming more and more recognized by the government and researchers, and so wholesale and retail industry will get the opportunity to further developing, thus, analysing the degree of wholesale and retail industry’s influence for the economic development also became very necessary.Henan province is located in east-central of China, have superior traffic condition, it is beneficial to the development of wholesale and retail industry. And, since2006, Henan province has been used pushing the service industry develop as the strategic emphasis of economic development, in this environment, Henan wholesale and retail industry will get more development, this paper studies wholesale and retail industry impact for the henan economic development is more positive significance.This paper first reviews the related research of this topic, then, analyzes the development situation of the wholesale and retail industry of Henan including its history、development present situation、opportunity and problems.Next, based on the summary of the evaluation index system of circulation industry impact on economic development, from four aspects such as the GDP, social consumption, industry relations and employment of Henan to describe the promoting effect of the wholesale and retail industry to the social economic development.By the ues of input-output method, establishing econometric model to analyze the promoting effect of the wholesale and retail industry to economy.The analysis results show that the wholesale and retail industry’s promoting effect on Henan GDP is basically stable, but the effect has been below the national level. The effect on social consumption is tremendous, annual contribution rate up to83.4%. The wholesale and retail industry has close relationships with the other sectors in the economic system of Henan, especially the transportation, post and telecommunications industry. But, the wholesale and retail industry’s driving ability of the economy is still weak, and its perceived boosting effect from the other sectors is small too. In terms of employment, the wholesale and retail industry played an important role in directly and indirectly alleviates the Henan social employment pressure.Finally, on the basis of the empirical analysis, puts forward corresponding suggestions to the development of wholesale and retail industry of Henan.
