A Research Into Function Positioning Of Chongqing Free Trade Port Area

With the word’s economic integration and China’s continuous development, especially with the expanded scope and quantity of China’s import and export, the status of port in the regional economy is increasingly enhanced. Since2005,14free trade zones have been set up by the State Council, which raise a crazy research of free trade zone in the academic world. However, the development way of "area and harbor together" is still been seeking and faces a lot of problems as well as challenges. Therefore, it’s an task urgent deed to be solved that how to recognize and position the function of free trade zone, so that to promote the development of China’s economy well and quickly.This thesis researches the function of free trade zone theoretically and practically. The main train of thought as bellows:First of all, this thesis analyses the theoretically research and development in practical of free trade zones both in and abroad, and reviews the main four theories of free trade zone:location advantages theory, growth pole theory, Theory of the relationship between ports and hinterland and the theory of institutional innovation. Then, the thesis sums up the site Characteristics and fundamental functions of the whole14free trade zones in China. Further more, it elaborates the representative free trade zones both in and abroad, from which the decisive effect factors of the functions of Chongqing free trade zone is found out. After that, there is a probe into Site Characteristic, infrastructure, Economies of scale and exploitation of the hinterland, preferential policies etc. Fourthly, it’s a SWOT analysis of Chongqing free trade zone. At last, grounded on the analysis we give our opinions about the further development of Chongqing free trade zone.The conclusion of this thesis is:Chongqing free trade zone should develop export processing accompanies by storage and transportation service of international trade and distributing center of goods.
