With the accelerating urbanization process in China, transportation problems havebecome increasingly prominent. Public transport is one of the most important part of theprocess of urbanization, the negative impact of its sustainable development of cities andurban environments can’t be ignored. Especially in today’s global warming trend andimprove the operating efficiency of the public transport system, reduce atmosphericpollution, and reduce the load of the city itself to become the government, academic andsocial issue of great concern. The operational efficiency of the transport system based onthe carbon footprint on urban development, urban environment protection, andresource-intensive society has important theoretical and practical significance. The basis of modern industrial chemical energy of fossil fuels, any productionactivities are inseparable from the use of energy. According to the IPCC global warmingpotential GWP and related substances, carbon emission factors, statistical calculation of thetotal carbon emissions of the bus system. From the perspective of efficiency evaluation, the use of the DEA method (DataEnvelopment Analysis), analysis of the statistics compare the operating efficiency of theeleven cars and subway two modes of transport mode, one of the indicators from the ChinaStatistical Yearbook and Beijing Yearbook. In evaluating the efficiency of selectedmulti-model and multi-angle, Get each DMU traffic running on pure technical efficiency, scale efficiency, large-scale trend value, which reveals the overall situation of theefficiency of electric cars and the subway.Beijing’s public transport system efficiency value is obtained using the nonlinearregression analysis verified the results using a Tobit model to verify the analysis of dataindicators affect the efficiency of public transportation system, and proposed to improveefficiency and optimize the configuration recommendations.Studies have shown that the transit operating efficiency evaluation method combinedwith the DEA and Tobit model has good validity, not only to compare the scale efficiencyand pure technical efficiency, but also more in-depth analysis of various indicators ofefficiency, the route of this study and methods as a reference for examples similar to thecarbon footprint of the bus system operating efficiency.
