Ethnic Tourism Community Residents Social Happiness Research

Well-being has been a hot topic in contemporary society, also a new subject for tourism research. Tourism research on well-being is still at starting stage at home and abroad, the existing related literature mainly focus on studies on subjective well-being of tourists, little attention to the local tourism community, in which there is no literature on social well-being; this article the first time introduce the concept and theory of social well-being to tourism research, to analyze social well-being of the ethnic tourism community. On the one hand, it can enrich tourism research on well-being; on the other hand, it can broaden the study field of social well-being.This article adhere to the principle of combining theoretical and empirical research, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, using literature, interviews, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis methods to study torism involvement of the tourism community residents and their social well-being. Quantitative analysis, using the SPSS, EXCEL and other statistical tools to study differentiation of social well-being of residents in the different demographic characteristics and in different tourism involvement of community residents, including a descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis and analysis of variance.The main contents:First, defining related concepts in this study and reviewing literature related to social well-being, tourism well-being, tourism impacts and tourism to residents of psychological at home and abroad, those study provide theoretical basis for the tourism community and the significance of the social well-being, especially for ethnic tourism community; Second, selecting the typical ethnic tourism community Tibeaten Langmu village to understand the development of community tourism profile and community residents to participate in tourism development, the revised Keyes social well-being scale, design interview outline, study and analysis of community residents and social well-being, at the same time, based on the theory of tourism, the impact on different community and social well-being in the travel conditions were analyzed; on how to enhance the tourism community residents of social well-being recommendations and measures.The main conclusions:(1) the overall level of social well-being of the ethnic tourism community Langmu villagers is in the mid to upper level; gender differences, age group had no significant effect on the residents’social well-being; the impact of education only is significant in social coherence dimension; marital status on social identity, social coherence dimension is significant, the impact of other dimensions were not significant; annual household income (economic status) have significant impact in the two dimensions of social integration and social contribution, the impact of other dimensions were not significant. Some of the conclusions keep in with the Keyes, U.S. adults findings, but the selected community type, and study different possible outcomes there will be some different results.(2) involving in tourism or not is very significant only in the dimension of social contribution; the differences involved in forms of tourism in addition to a significant impact on the dimension of social identity, on the other dimensions of social well-being not significant; participate in the life of differences in tourism income differences had no significant effect on social well-being; differences in groups of villagers in addition to no significant effect on social coherence dimension, other dimensions of social well-being are very significant, which shows the differences of social well-being in a small scale, the development of the tourism industry which has played a significant role.The innovation of this paper:First, in content, well-being is the focus in contemporary society,there is no tourism research on social well-being, this article the first time apply the concept and theory of social well-being to tourism industry to broaden past psychological research in tourism, and from the perspective of positive psychology, is different from the critical perspective of the tourism impact study,that is also consistent with the pursuit of the goal of tourism activities; second, in method, the study on well-being is mostly a subjective qualitative research, this paper apply theories and methods of sociology, anthropology, and psychology to tourism research, quantitative research on the social well-being of residents in tourist destinations. At the same time, a lot of interviews were used in order to combine qualitative and quantitative analysis.
