Labor standard has always been one of the most controversial hot topics thatinternational economic organizations have to be faced with. With the rapidintegration of the global economy, issues of labor standard between the developedand developing countries begin to come out and become more serious. And withintense global competition, it becomes an important issue that how to improve ourindustrial competitiveness. A large number of facts indicate that labor standardand labor productivity are closely related, so it shows great theoretical andpractical significance to study the relationship between labor standardand industrial competitiveness based on labor standard and economic developmentfrom reality.Based on the theories of human resource management and industrialcompetitiveness, this paper firstly introduced the connotation of labor standard andcompetitiveness of automotive industry, and then it described current researchon labor standard and industrial competitiveness. After that, a relational model oflabor standard and competitiveness of automotive industry was built takingautomotive manufacturing industry for example. Then we did a survey on threeautomotive factories and eight automotive parts companies in Hefei byquestionnaire. Through statistical analysis, the result showed that the correlation oflabor standard and automotive industry competitiveness was significant; especiallysubsidy system and benefits significantly affected automotive manufacturingindustry. Finally, according to the previous analysis, this paper put forward somerelevant management implications from the two levels of enterprises andgovernment.
