Study On The Communication Conflicts In Small Groups

Small group activities take up the most proportion of both our business life and dailylife. Small group communications are the major form of group activities, which enjoy avital position in group-work. The effectiveness of small group communication determinesdirectly whether the small group can achieve the expected goals. However, there arevarious communication conflicts in small groups. The group communication conflicts areobjectively normal phenomenon, producing both positive and negative effects. We,therefore, are required to adopt an appropriate management on the communicationconflicts in small group, to maximize the positive effect of communication conflict whileminimize the negative one.The thesis observes a series of small classroom group (with the least pressure and thelowest power distance) communications to summarize the features of communicatingconflicts and the reasons of the conflicts. Not only does the author make the interview andobservation, but also designs a questionnaire on small group communication and sendsquestionnaires to other small classroom group members. By analyzing the similarities anddifferences, more sources of the communication conflicts are collected and the routes ofconflicts management are concluded, which are significant to the theoretical research andpractice of business communication.
