The Modernizaiton Development Of Tongling Where Is Along Yantze River In Anhui Province

The city is the production of human civilization, the development center ofhuman civilization and the advancement power of human society and the State orthe region’s political center, economic center and cultural center and themodernization development of the carrier, the modernization of the city played animportant role as the Chinese modern society transition processing. In1876, sinceDatong had been opened as sending-sailing port, Tongling started to be on the pathof modernization, the city’s function had changed from the military areas into thetraffic transshipment hub and the crossing type city. In this article, combing themodern history of Tongling, studying the road of the development of the citymodernization, we aim at providing historical references of exploring the Tonglingcontemporary modernization building.In this article, there are four sections except Foreword and Conclusion.Foreword includes Academic History Review, definitions of concept and a briefanalysis of academic value and practical significance of topic selection. Part Ⅰ,we study the natural and social environment of Tongling to provide historicalbackground for later discussion. Part Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ, they reveal the trends ofmodernization development of Tongling through the following perspectives:economic transition, social change, cultural and educational development. InConclusion, we sum up the features and the influencing factors of urbanmodernization of Tongling. The disintegration of traditional society step-by-stepand the increase of the modern social factors promote the modernization processof Tongling together.
