Research On Low-carbon Economic Development Of Xiangxi State Under The Guidance Of Eco-Marxist Theory

As a completely new model of economic development, low-carbon economy is animportant means of achieving sustainable and harmonious development of regionaleconomic, social, resources and environment, also is demand of the times to constructtwo types of society and to develop eco-Marxist theory. Currently, numerous domesticand foreign scholars have carried on thorough researches on the low-carbon economyfrom different angles and have achieved fruitful results in the study of its basic theoryand basic application. However, Chinese low-carbon economic development theory andapplied research is still in its infancy, how to effectively combine local economic withsocial development to guide the application of low-carbon economy has yet to beexplored.Located in western Hunan Province, Xiangxi Autonomous Prefectureis a regiongathered by ethnic minority with beautiful environment, a long history, rich culture, vastmineral resources. But economic development in Xiangxi is relatively later, while thegrowth is not fast, the gross is not big enough, and the stability is not strong. Moreover,three major industries are still in simple extensive level and depend heavily on externalenvironment and resources. Nowadays, Xiangxi economy is in a transitional period.Low-carbon economy with low power consumption and low pollution has graduallybecome an inevitable trend of social development, and this applies as we narrow itdown to the economic development of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture. By studying onthe basic concepts and theories of low-carbon economy and combining with the statusof Xiangxi’s economic, social, resource development, this paper objectively analyzesmain disadvantages of the mode of Xiangxi’s economic development, and then studiesthe feasibility and necessity for developing Xiangxi’s low-carbon economy. On thisbasis, this paper sets a goal orientation for low-carbon economic development ofXiangxi, explores effective ways to promote Xiangxi’s low-carbon economicdevelopment, and puts forward some proposals from different respects, such asstrengthening low carbon awareness, improving guarantee mechanism, adjustingindustrial structure, accelerating technical innovation and so on, to promote the rapidtransition of Xiangxi’s economy and to accelerate sound development of Xiangxi’ssociety and economy.
