Logic And The Writing Of Modern Official Documents

Official documents are official writings which are formed in the process ofhandling administrative and public affairs in state organs, enterprises, institutions andpeople’s organizations. There are three characteristics of official documents, made bythe national authorities, legally binding and standardly formatted, which all requireofficial documents must be topic clear, linguistic accurate and structurally clear,otherwise it will directly affect the effective realization of the documents. For officialdocuments writers, logic not only provides the tools of awareness and expression, butalso is the fundamental requirement of contemporary document writing. With widelycited examples, this paper summarizes the logic usages and common logic errors inofficial documents by analyzing their statements and structural ideas. On this basis, thispaper proposes ways to use logic correctly and consciously in document writing, with aview to ensure the documents are policy-oriented, serious, authoritative, and to promotethe due effectiveness of documents extensively.
