As representatives of formal language, official documents are dignified and elegant, simple and straightforward, smooth and plain. Comparatively, spoken words are common in Party’s organs and governmental institutions documents in China. Flexible use of spoken words can make official documents much more vivid and convey information better.This study tries to summarize the application regularity of the Party’s organs and governmental institutions documents of spoken words from such aspects as language type, vocabulary categories, writing direction and audiences. This article can be divided in five chapters.Chapter I sketches the research progress and present problems in academic, explains the significance of this research and defines the concept of official documents and spoken words.Chapter II makes a preliminary analysis of the usage of spoken words in different official documents from language type and writing direction.Chapter III analyzes the role of spoken words in official documents through making examples.Chapter IV analyzes the usage of different spoken words in official documents separately, and summarizes the application regularity of spoken words in different official documents on the basis of chapter II, which in order to reach a conclusion that whether the audiences have decisive effect on the usage of spoken words.Chapter V, the conclusion, summarizes the main conclusions and shortage of this study.
