The automotive industry is one of the leading industries in Henan Province，itplay an very important part in the national economy. Early in Henan Province, thefoundation of the automobile industry is very weak, competitiveness is low and thespeed of development is slow. Its period of rapid development from2005. Currently,the industry overall strength has reached the national middle level.The industrial chain of the automotive industry is very long, It is a typicalindustry that suitable for develop in form of cluster. In this article, I compiled thetheoretical knowledge of industrial clusters and the competitiveness at first.Then treatthe automobile industry cluster of Henan Province as the a study object,analysisdevelopment and formation mechanism of the cluster. According to the opportunitiesand challenges that facing,predict the development prospects of the automobileindustry in Henan.The core content of this article is to calculate the competitiveness of theautomobile industry cluster in Henan,then observe its ranking in the country’s30autoindustry clusters. In order to achieve this goal, I selected two indicators at first:laborand industrial output value, then calculate the degree of concentration of industrialclusters in method of LQ coefficient. Draw the following results： the laborconcentration index of Automobile industry cluster in Henan ranked17th in thecountry, and the output value concentration index of automobile industry cluster inHenan ranked18th in the country. Both in the secondary and lower level in thecountry,so its clustering effect is not very obvious. Secondly, I select18specificindicators from the cluster size, cluster efficiency, foreign trade, the environment forthe development, then calculate the competitiveness index of Henan automobileindustry cluster by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process. Finally, we get the followingconclusions：The competitiveness of Henan automobile industry cluster ranked14inthe country. Meanwhile, identify the strengths and weaknesses of development ofautomobile industry in Henan according to calculation of the rankings of eachindicator. And point out the problems of the Henan automobile industry cluster on thisbasis. Because of new energy vehicles in the automotive industry is becoming moreand more important, in this article, new energy vehicles industry of Henan is aseparate part. I analyzed the development status and the problems of the new energyvehicles industry in Henan, gives my advices on how to use the new energyautomotive industry to the develop automobile industry in Henan.Finally, the article pointed out six countermeasures and suggestions to enhancethe competitiveness of Henan automobile industry cluster,They are expanding the cluster size,Improve the matching rate of the provincemotor vehicles and parts manufacturing enterprises,Implementation the clusterdevelopment model,Improve personnel training mechanism,Combination ofindustrialization and information.
